May 31, 2017– The Thunder Bay Border Cats failed to capitalize on a pair of bases loaded situations in the eighth and ninth inning, helping the Stingers win their second straight of the 2017 campaign.
Cats pitchers had a decent night with starter Blaze Bohall tossing six innings and giving up three earned runs with four strikeouts. Relief pitcher Evan Johnson was solid in his two innings fanning two, while giving up zero runs.
Border Cats first baseman, Jared McCunn, had another big night at the dish, going 2 for 4 and hitting the Cats first homerun of the season. McCunn currently has the only RBI's of the summer for the Thunder Bay squad.
The Cats are moving forward with their sights now set on the expansion team, Bismark Larks. They will play two in Bismark before playing their first "home" game of 2017 in Marshall, MN against the Rochester Honkers.
