BORDER CATS CONTINUE WINNING WAYS!

The Thunder Bay Border Cats continued their winning ways defeating the Rochester Honkers 4-2. The game provided more exciting baseball with the Cats loading the bases and scoring three runs in the seventh inning.

The big hits in the seventh inning came from Austin Ledin who had a two-run RBI single, and Colin Rosenbaum who finished Ledin’s trip around the bases with a RBI single. The three runs would prove to be the difference maker as the Cats took the lead and never looked back.

The Cats starting pitcher – Patrick Ryan – pitched a terrific game for the Cats and was rewarded with his first victory. He pitched into the sixth inning while striking out six batters. After Ryan’s exit, the bullpen continued to shut down the Honkers. Michael Bohlke, Jesse Bogacz, and Brady Hill all pitched scoreless innings and Hill picked up his second save of the year.

The game marked the first ‘home game’ of the year as it was played in Marshall, MN. due to the field delays at Port Arthur Stadium. The Cats will play the second game of the series in Marshall against the same Honkers tomorrow afternoon.
