BORDER CATS FALL 5-1 TO ROX
Monday was not so kind for the Thunder Bay Border Cats as they fell to the St. Cloud Rox 5-1. The Cats could not touch Rox starting pitcher Jack Cushing as he went six scoreless innings allowing only four hits. Cushing picked up the win as the Cats could not generate a run until a Colin Rosenbaum RBI single in the ninth inning.
Offensively, the Cats showed signs of breaking out in the eighth as they loaded the bases but were unable to capitalize. Also, the Cats managed to get multiple runners on in the ninth but were only able to get the big hit from Rosenbaum.
Brandon Williamson started the game for the Cats and allowed three of the five runs. Michael Bohlke took over for Williamson in the sixth inning and allowed two runs to end the game.
The loss moves the Cats to a record of 3-4 on the year and ends the three-game winning streak. The Cats look to start a new streak tomorrow night as they once again take on the Rox in the second ‘home game’ in Brainerd, MN.
