Wednesday night was not a kind night for the Thunder Bay Border Cats as they fell 10-6 to the Duluth Huskies. It was an eventful game with plenty of offense to go around for all the players. There were a combined 24 hits that eventually saw the Huskies take the lead and not give it back.

The Border Cats got off to a strong start leading 6-1 after the fourth inning but blew the lead with the help of giving up four runs in the following half inning. The Huskies took control of the game from there and scored nine runs in the remaining five innings. Jesse Bogacz picked up the loss for the Cats while Gaylon Viney picked up the win for the Huskies.

Offensively, seven of the nine starters recorded a hit with Dougherty, Rosenbaum, Folena, contributing multi-hit performances. Otherwise, the offense was split evenly with many players contributing RBI’s and scoring runs.

The Cats are back in action tomorrow afternoon for the second game of the series. The originally scheduled doubleheader for tomorrow has been rescheduled to June 13th
