Border Cats Lose Hard Fought Game in Home Opener

The Thunder Bay Border Cats were welcomed home Saturday night to an incredible crowd of 1765. Every single person made their presence felt as the in stadium atmosphere was outstanding! Unfortunately, the Cats did not end up on the winning side of the game as they fell 7-3 to the Eau Claire Express. However, on the bright side, baseball’s back Thunder Bay!

The Border Cats were close all night as they managed 10 hits and were on base often. The score was close until the 9th when Eau Claire added three runs to take the game 7-3. Noah Strohl continues his strong start by driving in two of the Cats runs while adding three hits.

“The Border Cats organization wants to thank every single person who came to the ballpark on Saturday. At times this felt like a very difficult journey to get through all the road games.  However, the entire Border Cats staff came in each day to make the best out of the situation and to prepare for Saturday night. We hope we delivered on the experience you deserve, and we will continue working to make it even better” – GM Dan Grant
