The Border Cats came into St. Cloud tonight after an off day when the previous night’s game in Rochester was rescheduled due to rain.  If victorious the Border Cats would have extended their winning streak from 2 to 3 games, which would be a season high.

Unfortunately, tonight was not a favourable night for the Cats. St. Cloud got off to an early start in the 1st with two runs against starting pitcher Patrick Ryan (0-3). The Border Cats changed pitchers to Ben Gilliland at the top of the 2nd and shut down the Rox. Gilliland held the Rox off the scoreboard until the 6th when the Rox blew the game open when they scored 6 runs. The Border Cats started off the 7th with the bases loaded and Andy Weber scores Colton Thomas for the first run of the 4 run rally in the top of that inning. Dayne Sommer and Colin Rosenbaum both get walked in to score two more runs for the Cats. The final Cats run was an RBI single from Kevin Biondic to bring home Andy Weber. After that 4 run rally the Rox shut down the Cats and scored 5 more runs to finish the game with a final score of 11-4.

The Border Cats (11-19) look to rally back and tie the series in tomorrow night’s game in St. Cloud (20-11). First pitch is scheduled to be at 8:05 EST in St. Cloud. Make sure to follow us on twitter for up to the minute game updates.
