Border Cats Swept by Rox

After being delayed for about an hour to start the game the Border Cats fell to the St. Cloud Rox 8-2. Overall, it was not the Cats best game of the year as they only managed three hits and thus struggled to get any momentum. Starting pitcher Brandon Williamson picked up the loss while Rox pitcher Jack Cushing got the win.

Offensively, JF Garon had the big hit for the Cats as he contributed a two-RBI triple in the sixth inning to give the Cats their only two runs of the game. The Cats then had the bases loaded but unfortunately could not capitalize. That would be the closest the Cats would come to making a comeback before the Rox took over and extended the lead.

The Cats will look to move on tomorrow as they will be welcomed home by a festive crowd at Port Arthur Stadium. The Border Cats will celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday with special Canada Day jersey’s being auctioned off post-game. First pitch is 5:05PM so make sure you get your tickets before then. It will be a great atmosphere that you will not want to miss. You can stop by the box office starting at 10AM or call 766-2287 to reserve your seat.
