BORDER CATS EARN SERIES SPLIT WITH LOGGERS

On a warm sunny afternoon at Port Arthur Stadium, the Thunder Bay Border Cats beat the Lacrosse Loggers 2-1. Kade Kryzsco (1-2) carried the team going eight complete innings without allowing a run and picked up the victory. Kryzsco was so dominant that he only allowed five hits while striking out five. He got some help from the offence when Colin Rosenbaum made a pinch hit appearance in the sixth inning and drove in two runs off of a single. From there the Cats played shut down baseball allowing only one run. Connor Centala earned the save and moved the Cats to a season record of 12-21.

With the win, the Cats split the Canada Day weekend series with the Loggers. The Cats now hit the road for a grueling eight day road trip which will see them play a game every day. The Cats will first visit Eau Claire, followed by Mankato, Bismarck, and Willmar. Upon returning from the road trip the Cats will host a six game home stand leading up to the all-star break.
