Cats Fall to Loggers on Canada Day

In front of a festive crowd at Port Arthur Stadium, the Thunder Bay Border Cats fell 5-4 to the Lacrosse Loggers at the annual Canada Day game. The Cats got off to a quick 2-0 lead but saw it disappear by the fifth inning. The Cats did tie the game to send it to extra innings but in the tenth inning, the Loggers scored a couple runs to win the game.

Cats starting pitcher Blaze Bohall pitched a great game going six strong innings while striking out seven. As for his teammates, Colton Thomas had a big night going 3-5 with a RBI that came off of a home run. Andy Weber also had a solid night going 2-4 with one RBI and continues to swing the bat well. Since it was the Canada Day game fans were able to bid on the custom jerseys the Cats wore. Lots of lucky fans were able to walk away with some great looking Border Cats Canada jerseys.

The Cats are back in action again tomorrow against the same Loggers with first pitch at 1:35 PM. It’s the final home game before the Cats head out on an eight-game road trip which sees them visit Eau Claire, Mankato, Bismarck, and Willmar.
