BORDER CATS WIN WILD GAME!

From the start, the Thunder Bay Border Cats looked like they were going to walk all over the Mankato Moondogs. Alex Sanchez hit a three run homerun and then after a RBI single, the Cats held a 4-0 lead after three innings. The Cats then added a couple more runs to get their largest lead of the night at 6-0. From there the Moondogs slowly started working their way back into the game with a run here and there until the eighth inning. In the eighth inning, the Moondogs scored five runs to take the 7-6 lead into the ninth inning with their closer coming in to save the game. The Cats managed to load the bases and then in a pinch hit appearance by Colin Rosenbaum he ripped a single to give the Cats a two run lead. This would be all the runs the Cats needed as 9-7 would be the final score. All in all, it was a crazy finish to the game which could have seen both teams come away with the victory.

The Cats now have a 1-1 record to start the second half with a trip to Bismarck, ND up next. The Cats will look to build some momentum after tonight’s win and try to get over the .500 level. Make sure to follow the Border Cats on Twitter @tbbordercats for up to the minute updates from the road.
