BORDER CATS WIN VERSUS STINGERS!

The Thunder Bay Border Cats began their final series of an eight game road trip versus the Willmar Stingers. The Cats beat the Stingers 7-5 with starting pitcher Kade Kryzsco picking up his second victory of the summer.

The game did not start the way the Cats would have liked as the Stingers got off to a three run lead in the first inning. The Cats bounced back in the fifth inning by scoring six runs, three of them off the bat of Colin Rosenbaum’s three run home run. The other RBI’s came off the bats of Gabe Lozada, Colton Thomas, Noah Strohl, and Alex Sanchez. From the fifth inning and on the Cats never looked back as Evan Johnson came in for his first save and the Cats moved their second half record to 3-2. The Stingers did come close with the bases loaded in the ninth but Johnson and his teammate’s managed to close the game out.

The win is also the second in a row as the Cats will look to make it three in a row tomorrow against the same Stingers. After tomorrow, the Cats will return home for a six game homestand.
