BORDER CATS LOSE OPENER TO HONKERS IN RAIN FILLED NIGHT AT PORT ARTHUR STADIUM

Following a 2 hour rain delay to begin the night, the Rochester Honkers broke it open in the 8th to shutout the Border Cats 5-0. Up 1-0 in the 8th, Rochester scored  4 runs on RBI by David Noworyta, Konnor Zickefoose, and a pair by Johnathan Fleek. Mike Echavia opened the scoring with his 6th homer of the season in the 6th. Kevin Biondic started for the Cats throwing 4 innings giving up just 2 hits and striking out 3. Noah Strohl led the way offensively for Thunder Bay with a couple hits (2-4). Manny Armendariz picked up the win for Rochester, he hurled 7 innings striking out 9 and giving up just 3 hits. The Border Cats drop to 3-4 in the 2nd half. The two game set with the Honkers wraps up tomorrow night at Port Arthur Stadium on Weenie Wednesday where hot dogs are $1. 1st pitch goes at 7:05. The home stand will then continue on Thursday as a 4-game series begins against Bismarck.
