OFFENCE DOOMS BORDER CATS AS LARKS OPEN SERIES WITH A WIN

The Thunder Bay Border Cats left a whopping 15 men on base including 2 in the 9th as the Bismarck Larks opened the 4-game series with a 3-1 victory at Port Arthur Stadium. Despite giving up 7 hits, Andy Lalonde threw 6 innings giving up just 1 run for Bismarck. Jake Mielock countered for the Border Cats striking out 8 over 5 innings of work. After scoring a run in the 1st, Bismarck got 2 in the 4th on a sac fly from Cooper Coldiron, followed by a RBI single off the bat of Wyatt Ulrich. Braden Mosley went 3-5 for Thunder Bay, while Brendan Dougherty drove in the lone Border Cat run. Ryan Anderson had 2 hits for the Larks. Thunder Bay and Bismarck continue their series Friday night with 1st pitch slated for 7:05.

Off the field and in the kitchen, the Border Cats staff lead by Sherry Archer (left) and Amber Gould (right) were rewarded for their hard work from the Thunder Bay District Health Unit. Along with all the staff members, the Border Cats concessions were awarded a class A in the new rankings system that measures the establishment's food safety.
