BRENDAN DOUGHERTY WALKS IT OFF FOR BORDER CATS IN WILD ONE AT PORT ARTHUR STADIUM

In front of nearly 1,300 rowdy fans at Port Arthur Stadium, the Thunder Bay Border Cats walk off the Mankato Moondogs in a dramatic 8-7 win. Down 7-6 entering the bottom of the 9th, Nick Ciandro tied it on an RBI single and Brendan Dougherty won it for the Cats as he laced a game winning RBI single down the left field line. Dougherty finished the night going 3-5 with 2 RBI. Noah Strohl also had 3 hits for Thunder Bay as they snapped the Moondogs 6-game winning streak. Mankato took the lead in the top of the 9th as Logan Busch drove in a pair on a double, Busch finished with 3 RBI in the game. Evan Johnson picked up the win for Thunder Bay, while Naithen Dewsnap suffered the loss. The series between the teams wrap up Friday Night. It is Retro Night at the stadium as the Border Cats will sport Thunder Bay Whisky Jacks jerseys. The game worn jerseys will be available postgame for auction with all proceeds going towards PRO kids.
