Cats Swept By Bucks
On a warm sunny afternoon in Waterloo, Iowa the Thunder Bay Border Cats fell 4-3 to the Waterloo Bucks. The Cats got off to a very quick start with the bases loaded and scoring two runs in the first inning. However, the Bucks came back with a run in each of the next two innings and two more in the fourth inning. Offensively, after the first inning, the Cats struggled to get the ball in play. They managed six bases on balls but only three base hits. Starting pitcher Ben Gilliland kept the Cats in the game with a strong outing. Although he allowed four earned runs and picked up the loss he kept the Cats in the game by pitching seven complete innings and striking out three.
The Cats now continue their road trip by visiting the St. Cloud Rox. So far this year the Cats have struggled versus the Rox winning once in six tries. However, the Rox have struggled in the second half so the Cats will look to improve the season record versus the Rox. First pitch is 8:05 EST.
