CATS WALK OFF LOGGERS!

On a perfect night for baseball, the Thunder Bay Border Cats returned home with a bang! The Cats walked off the Lacrosse Loggers 7-6 in 11 innings with Kevin Biondic providing the damage. Biondic hit a ground ball to the Loggers shortstop who then committed an error to allow Colin Rosenbaum to score the winning run.

The Cats got off to a very quick start in the first inning as Noah Strohl and Kevin Biondic blasted back to back homeruns to give the Cats the early 3-0 lead. As the game went on the Loggers slowly got back in the game thanks to a four run fourth inning. The Cats maintained the lead all the way until the eighth inning when the Loggers tied the game and then in the ninth inning they took a one run lead. In the bottom half of the ninth Kevin Biondic provided the RBI to tie the game and push it into extra innings. Kevin Biondic took over from this point on as he pitched the ninth inning until he provided the go ahead run to give the Cats the win. Biondic finished the game 2-5 with two RBI, three innings pitched with one strikeout and the win.

The Cats are back in action tomorrow night against the same Loggers with first pitch scheduled at 7:05 PM. Join the Border Cats and UCB radio as it will be faith night followed by a post-game movie. The Rookie will be shown post-game so make sure to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets. We will have a concession open to fulfill your popcorn and drink needs too.
