Cats and Loggers Split Series in Thunder Bay
After a walk off win the previous game the Thunder Bay Border Cats nearly did it again. The Cats tied the game in the ninth inning and still had runners in scoring position but were unable to capitalize. The game did not stay tied for long as the Loggers scored three runs in their first try in extra innings. This was enough for them as Grant Ford picked up the win for the Loggers.
From the third inning on the Loggers had control of the game and at one point held a 5-2 led. The Cats clawed their way back all night and it paid off in the ninth inning when they tied the game. Andy Weber, Colton Thomas, Kevin Biondic, Dayne Sommer and Colin Rosenbaum contributed to the six hits the Cats had in the game. On the mound, Ben Gilliland started the game for the Cats and pitched four innings allowing only one earned run. From there Gabe Lozada, Billy Cook, Austin Hurd and Brady Hill all pitched the remainder of the game for the Cats.
The Cats will now continue their homestand as they start a series with the Mankato Moondogs. Join us for Thunder Bay Community Auditorium Night as we will be giving away tickets to awesome events being hosted by the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 PM.
