Border Cats Bounce Back With Big Win!
After losing three straight, the Border Cats bounced back with a 7-6 win over the Eau Claire Express in front of another solid crowd at Port Arthur Stadium. Everyone was loud and cheering on our Cats as they were down early but came back with six runs combined in the third and fourth innings. In the fourth inning alone the Cats scored four runs led by a Billy Cook two run home run. Gabe Lozada and Colton Thomas added the other RBI’s as they contributed singles to score Andy Weber and JF Garon. The game would remain tied until the sixth inning when Colton Thomas hit a ball to the outfield for a sacrifice fly and gave the Cats the 7-6 lead. The game would stay this way thanks to Alex Babcock who pitched in relief for Jesse Bogacz. Babcock pitched six innings allowing only two earned runs.
Although the Cats won the game the true MVP belongs to all of our host families. Monday was Host Family Appreciation Night at the ballpark as the Border Cats honored all of our amazing host families. Without our host family’s dedication to providing homes for the Border Cats players the Border Cats organization simply would not exist. We are truly grateful for all our host families opening up their homes for the summer. We truly believe we have the best host families and our players definitely let us know how great you all are. If you would like to become a host family for the 2018 season please call the office at 766-2287.
