Border Cats Blown Out In Eau Claire
It was not a nice Saturday evening to be a member of the Thunder Bay Border Cats as they lost 9-2 to the Eau Claire Express. The Cats batters had a rough night as they faced a hot pitcher in Ryan Zimmerman. Zimmerman was dominant pitching six complete innings while striking out nine Border Cats. The Cats only managed to get three base hits while Zimmerman was in the game and only three more after he exited the game. Andy Weber, Billy Cook each had two hits while Brendan Dougherty and Kevin Biondic had one each. The two runs came off the bat of a Colin Rosenbaum sacrifice fly and a Kevin Biondic single.
The Express got off to a quick start scoring runs in each of the first three innings. In total, they scored nine unanswered runs before the Cats scored two in the eighth inning. The Cats will look to build off of the runs scored at the end of the game in tomorrow rematch against the same Express team. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 EST.
