Border Cats Stung by Stingers
With only three games to go in the Thunder Bay Border Cats season, the Willmar Stingers beat the Cats 15-3. It was a beautiful Friday night in front of another amazing crowd over 1000 but the Cats could not get the job done. Right off the bat, the Stingers took the lead with two runs in the first and second inning. The Cats managed to get a couple runs in the fourth inning but the Stingers then scored nine more runs to put the game out of reach. Noah Strohl, JF Garon, and Nick Caldeen each picked up the RBI’s for the Cats.
Tyler Moskalyk started the game for the Cats in his return to the team after pitching for the Cats last summer. Moskalyk pitched five innings but picked up the loss. For the Stingers, Anthony Garza picked up the win as he pitched a solid eight innings. The Cats struggled to get going against him as they could only get six hits in the game.
The Cats will look for revenge tomorrow against the same Willmar Stingers with first pitch scheduled for 7:35 PM. Join the Border Cats for the largest fireworks show in Border Cats history!
