LONG BALL THE DIFFERENCE AS STINGERS EDGE BORDER CATS ON FIREWORKS NIGHT AT PORT ARTHUR STADIUM
Tyler Reichenborn’s 10th inning blast proved to be the difference as the Willmar Stingers defeat the Border Cats 6-5 in front of over 1,700 raucous fans. Thunder Bay was one out away from winning the game but Luke Becker tied it 5-5 with a solo homer in the 9th. Alexander Nolan picked up the loss for the Border Cats, while Nick Mears got the win for the Stingers. Trailing 3-0 in the 4th, Thunder Bay scored 5 runs capped off with a Brendan Dougherty 2 RBI double. Andy Weber, Gabriel Lozada, and Thunder Bay native Bryce Jorgenson had the other RBI for the Cats. Nolan Bumstead clubbed his 7th homer of the year for Willmar in the 5th. The 4-game series and season wrap up tomorrow afternoon for a 1:35 matinee. It is Fan Appreciation Day at the ballpark, you will not want to miss the action as there will be giveaways throughout the game.
