BORDER CATS WIN  1^ST OF THE YEAR IN WILLMAR

The Thunder Bay Border Cats take down the Willmar Stingers 3-2 to win their 1st game of the 2018 campaign. Ryan Drake scored an unearned run in the 7^th to snap a 2-2 tie. Justin King threw 3 excellent relief innings striking out 5 and giving up no runs.  Alexander Nolan picked up the win for the Border Cats going 6 strong, striking out 6 and giving up just 3 hits and 2 earned runs. Nick Conti and Evan Russell added the other 2 runs for Thunder Bay. Gunner Hellstrom led the way with 2 hits for the Cats. Thunder Bay and Willmar wrap up their 2-game set at 8 pm et on Friday night. The Border Cats home opener presented by Acadia Broadcasting goes Saturday night at 7:35 against Mankato. Fireworks spectacular will follow. Box office will be open 11-6 on Friday and will open at 11 am on Saturday!!!
