BORDER CATS STUNG BY STINGERS IN SERIES FINALE

The Willmar Stingers broke a 2-2 tie in the 5th en route to a 7-2 win to split the series with the Border Cats. Thunder Bay out hit Willmar 10-6 but made 3 errors in the game leading to 3 unearned runs. Brady Gulakowski and Trent Athmann picked up 2 hits apiece, while Garrett Saunders had the lone RBI for the Cats. Alec Olmstead went 5 innings giving up two earned runs in picking up the loss. Corey Binger got the win for the Stingers hurling 3 relief innings giving up just a hit.

Next up for your Thunder Bay Border Cats is the Home Opener brought to you by Acadia Broadcasting facing the Mankato Moondogs. Magic 99.5 will be on location from Port Arthur Stadium beginning at around 3:30 pm. Gates open at 6:35 pm with 1st pitch at 7:35 pm. The 1st 250 fans get a schedule magnet. Fireworks show will follow the game. Box office will be open at 11:00 am.
