LUDWIG STYMIES BORDER CATS TO SPLIT 2-GAME SERIES

Jonathan Ludwig hurled 5 shutout innings while striking out 6 Border Cats to lead the way as the Mankato Moondogs take series finale 5-2 at Port Arthur Stadium. Ludwig threw 4 and 2/3rds of no hit baseball before Gunner Hellstrom and Shane Connahan came up with back to back hits. Ludwig then got Trent Athmann to pop out in foul territory to end the threat. Ricky Digrugilliers finished it off for the Moondogs throwing 4 innings of 2 run baseball. Kyle MacDonald had a pair of RBI for Mankato, while going 3-for-4 in the game. Brady Gulakowski had the lone RBI for the Cats. Erik Key picked up the loss for Thunder Bay going 4 innings giving up 2 earned runs (3 total). The Border Cats continue their 6-game home stand Monday night as they begin a 2-game set with the Eau Claire Express. It is the 1st of 3 Happy Time Tours Mondays which means $1 off hamburgers. 1st pitch goes at 7:05. The two teams will wrap up their series on Tuesday with a Border Cats School day game beginning at 11:05 am.
