Moondogs Walk Off Border Cats in 10th Inning

In front of a packed house in Mankato, MN, the Moondogs walked off the Border Cats 2-1 with a solo home run from Kyle MacDonald. The home run ended the pitching duel which saw pitchers from both teams shut down the offence. The Cats starting pitcher Drew Gooch pitched six innings allowing only one run while striking out five. He was replaced by John Sakowski to start the seventh who finished the game for the Cats. In his three innings, he only allowed two hits, one of them being the solo home run. On the Mankato side, starting pitcher Nick Belzer pitched seven innings of three-hit ball. He was replaced by Brandon Pfaadt who pitched three innings where he struck out eight Border Cats.

In his first at-bat since joining the team Mark Vierling picked up the lone RBI for the Cats and finished the game 1-4. Mark and his teammates will continue the road trip tomorrow night in Mankato and will look to split the series. Make sure to follow along with the game through our Twitter @tbbordercats.
