Border Cats Crush Loggers
The Thunder Bay Border Cats got back in the win column Tuesday night with a big 6-2 win over the Lacrosse Loggers. The Cats got on the board first with a two-run second inning. A passed ball and an RBI groundout from Gunner Hellstrom helped score the second run. The Cats then exploded in the fifth inning when Billy Cook hit a grand slam! The home run gave the Border Cats a 6-0 lead. From there the Cats shut down the Loggers with solid pitching from Alex Nolan (3-0). He didn’t allow anything to get past him as he pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out three. He only allowed three Loggers to get on base in his seven innings. He was replaced by Jayden Metz who pitched a scoreless inning. Andrew Gross finished the game for the Cats. He allowed a two-run home run but secured the final outs to get the victory.
