Cats Drop Seventh Straight in Rochester
The Thunder Bay Border Cats were once again swept with this time it being by the Rochester Honkers. The Cats dropped this afternoon’s game 12-0. There was nothing going the Border Cats way this afternoon as they were only able to get one hit. The Honkers starting pitcher Matteo Bocchi was dominant in his five innings pitched. He allowed the one hit but struck out seven Border Cats. Gunner Hellstrom was the lone Border Cat who was able to register a hit.
The Honkers got off to a quick start scoring two runs in the first two innings. Drew Gooch started the game for the Cats and struggled in his 4 1/3 innings pitched. He was charged with nine earned runs and the loss. Even after Gooch exited the game the Honkers kept pushing and shut out the Cats.
