Border Cats End Losing Streak with Blowout Win!

The Thunder Bay Border Cats opened a two-game series versus the Waterloo Bucks with a huge 10-3 win. The bats were going all night long for the Cats as they outhit the Bucks 16 to 6.

The Bucks got on the board early thanks to a two-run first inning. However, the lead did not last long as the Cats scored four runs in the third inning. Ben McConnell and Billy Cook doubled followed by an RBI single from Willie Bourbon created the four-run inning. The Cats did not look back from there as they scored four more unanswered runs in the following innings. The Bucks scored one run in the seventh but it was not enough to get them back into the game.

Every Border Cat was able to register a hit with Willie Bourbon leading the way with three hits. Bourbon was 3-4 with a walk and one run scored. Brandon Trammell had a solid game going 2-5 with two RBI’s and two runs scored. One of his hits was a solo home run, his third home run of the season. On the mound, Rogelio Reyes started the game and pitched well in his five innings allowing only two runs. He picked up his first win of the season.
