BARRIE’S BIG BAT POWERS ROX PAST BORDER CATS
On a glorious afternoon at Port Arthur Stadium, it was Jack Barrie’s bat that did the talking as the Australian native clubbed 3 home runs and added 7 RBI as the St. Cloud Rox took down the Border Cats 13-11. Barrie smacked a solo shot in the 2nd, 2 run homer in the 4th, and cranked a grand slam in the 6th. Brock University’s Alex Nolan started for the Cats giving up 8 runs (6 earned) and 10 hits over 5 innings. Kyle Czaplak led the way for Thunder Bay going 3-for-5 with 4 RBI. Billy Cook also had 3 hits, while driving in 3 runs. Connor Aube, Landon Stephens, Ben Carew each had 3 hits for St. Cloud who outhit Thunder bay 18-13 in the game. Jake Stevenson picked up the win, while for the 2nd straight game Erik Martinez got the save. The Border Cats now hit the road for a couple days through Eau Claire and La Crosse. You don’t have to wait long to see them back in action at the stadium, as the Eau Claire Express come to town for a 2-game set beginning on Thirsty Thursday. $1 off all Sleeping Giant Beer. 7:05 pm is 1st pitch.
