Border Cats Waked-Off in Eau Claire

The Thunder Bay Border Cats were swept by the Eau Claire Express after a walk-off 6-5 win for the Express. The Border Cats were down and out entering the eighth inning when they were down 5-0. However, adding one run in the eight gave the Cats some hope. In the ninth innings they scored four runs to tie the game and grab all the momentum. The game was not tied for long as in the bottom half of the inning the Express won the game on an RBI single.

Cody Milligan was the story of the game as the Express player played all nine positions during the game. He started the game catching and moved to a new position each inning before taking to the mound in the ninth inning. He allowed the four Border Cats runs in the ninth inning but put on a tremendous performance.

For the Cats, Cam Pearcey went 3-4 with one RBI and a run scored. Brandon Trammell also added a couple hits and RBI. Kyle Czaplak got on base three of his five appearances scoring two runs. Andrew Gross took the loss for the Cats and Zach Grech picked up the win for the Express.

The Cats will now continue the road trip in Lacrosse, WI. as they take on the Loggers for a day/night doubleheader. First pitch in the early game is scheduled for 1:05 ET. The late game is scheduled for 8:05 ET. You can follow all the action of both games through our Twitter tbbordercats.
