BORDER CATS LOSE 10TH STRAIGHT IN SEESAW BATTLE TO EAU CLAIRE

The Eau Claire Express and Thunder Bay Border Cats provided a back and forth affair on Thursday night at Port Arthur Stadium but it was the Express that prevailed 7-6 to send the Cats to a 10th straight loss. Andrew Pratt sac fly in the 8th gave the Express the lead. In the bottom half the Cats loaded the bases; however, Ryan Bishop was able to strikeout Ben McConnell then get Caleb Schwabe to fly out which ended the threat. Thunder Bay then went down in order in the 9th to wrap this one up. Billy Cook had a huge night at the plate for the Cats clubbing his 4th home run of the season and driving in 4, while going 2-for-5 in the process. Pratt and Nick Brueser each had 2 RBI for the Express. Spencer Myers had a perfect night at the plate for Eau Claire going 3-for-3 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored. Drew Gooch hurled his 2nd straight quality start going 6 innings giving up 3 earned runs while striking out 6. Carson Rudd picked up the win for the Express. The two teams will wrap up their 2 game set Friday night at the Stadium. 7:05 pm is 1st pitch.
