The Thunder Bay Border Cats battled back from a 6-0 first inning deficit to knock off the Duluth Huskies 8-6 in front of 824 home fans on Thursday night.  The Cats mounted their comeback by scoring three runs in the third inning and five more in the fourth as Thunder Bay improved its record to 4-5 and took a 2-1 lead in the season series over Duluth for the Superior Cup.  Tyler Kehoe (South Alabama) led the Cats at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four runs batted in, including a bases clearing double that gave the Cats a 7-6 the lead in the fourth inning.  Kehoe’s South Alabama teammates Cole Ketzner and Trey Lewis both drove in a pair of runs.  Robert Spencer (Texas A&M University-Kingsville) got the win with a solid relief appearance as the righthander pitched 3 1/3 shutout innings with two strikeouts, but the most impressive performance was the work out of the bullen by lefthander Will Droll (University of Pittsburgh).  The Thunder Bay native, who dreamed of playing for the Border Cats as a little leaguer, fired 4 2/3 innings, allowing no runs on two hits, with one walk and eight strikeouts to notch his first save in his Port Arthur Stadium debut. The four-game series wraps up Friday night with a 7:35pm start time and it’s Fly Away Friday’s as one lucky fan will win a trip for two from Porter Airlines.
