For the second straight night, the Thunder Bay Border Cats rode solid pitching to their second win in a row, beating the Rochester Honkers 5-2 on Thursday at Mayo Field.  Robert Spencer (Texas A&M University-Kingsville) started on the mound for the Cats and pitched five innings, allowing just one hit and one run, while striking out five as he improved his record to 2-3. Matt Juza (College of St. Scholastica) tossed two scoreless innings in middle relief with three strikeouts and Ryan Garvey (Hartnell College) got the final three outs for his first save.
Daylan Pena (Texas State University) led Thunder Bay at the plate as he hit a pair of solo homers, giving him three on the season, as the Cats won for the third time in four games and upped their overall record to 22-27. The Cats lead the season series 4-3 and close out their two-game set against the Honkers on Friday night at 7:35pm ET. Evans Hendricks (Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi) is the scheduled starter for Thunder Bay.  The lefthander has made six starts this season and is 0-0 with a 4.26 earned run average.
