The bats of the Thunder Bay Border Cats roared in the series finale against the La Crosse Loggers, as the two teams split their four-game slate this week.

A nine-run fourth inning for the Border Cats blew the game wide open, paving the way for a 15-9 win at Port Arthur Stadium on Wednesday.

Manny Alberto (Georgia Gwinnett College) and Ty Hamilton (Florida SouthWestern College) each drove in a pair of runs in the fourth, as the Border Cats turned what had been a one-run lead entering the bottom half of the fourth to a 10-run gap by the end of it.

Hayden Stringfellow (Bossier Parish Community College) notched 3 RBI while Camden Tanner (University of Arkansas-Monticello) added a pair of runs batted in with a two-run triple.

Hamilton was the Cwench player of the game for the Border Cats, going 3-for-5 with a double and a stolen base. Cwench is the official hydration partner of the Border Cats.

The Border Cats improve to 13-10 as they continue to chase the Great Plains East division first half crown.

The Border Cats are now set to host the Waterloo Bucks for a pair of games, beginning on Thursday. It’s ‘Thirsty Thursday’ with Sleeping Giant Brewing Company’s RBI Lager tall cans on sale for $7. It’s also the annual Bark in the Park night on Thursday, with the first 100 dogs receiving a baggie of treats courtesy of Pet Valu.
