A rainout means the Thunder Bay Border Cats and Waterloo Bucks will play both contests of a two-game series in one day.

Inclement weather in Waterloo on Monday sets up a Tuesday doubleheader for the two sides, who each find themselves in the thick of the first half race for the Great Plains East division crown.

The Border Cats enter Tuesday with a 17-10 record, just 1.5 games back of Waterloo’s 19-9 mark, as they both narrowly trail the first place La Crosse Loggers.

Thunder Bay is currently riding a five-game winning streak and has victories in 11 of the last 14 outings.

Both games will be seven innings in length.

Tyler Talbert (University of Texas-Arlington) and Makaio Cisneros (Pensacola State College) are the expected starting pitchers for Thunder Bay. The Border Cats will return to Port Arthur Stadium on June 27 to host the Mankato MoonDogs. That game will be a ‘‘Flyaway Friday’ with one lucky fan winning two tickets for anywhere Porter Airlines flies.
