The Thunder Bay Border Cats will hit the road after a nearly week-long homestand concluded with the Waterloo Bucks levelling their four-game series.

The visiting Bucks prevailed by a margin of 8-6 at Port Arthur Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Waterloo’s Jake Bechtel hit a pair of home runs and drove in four of his team’s eight runs.

Manny Alberto (Western Kentucky University) was the Cwench player of the game for the Border Cats, going 2-for-4 with an RBI double and scoring once. Cwench is the official hydration partner of the Border Cats.

Camden Tanner (University of Arkansas-Monticello) drove in a pair of runs for the Border Cats, and Hayden Stringfellow (Bossier Parish Community College) also picked up an RBI.

The Border Cats are now 1-1 in the second half, with a 22-14 overall mark.

Thunder Bay hits the road for a pair against the Eau Claire Express, beginning on Thursday with Nate Herchock (University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma) is expected to be the starting pitcher for the Border Cats. The Border Cats will return to Port Arthur Stadium on Saturday to kick off a brief two-game set against the Rochester Honkers with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m., with the game featuring a t-shirt giveaway presented by BrickHost.
