Jeremy Sheffield (Georgetown University) hit his first home run of the season and the Thunder Bay Border Cats scored a road victory over the Rochester Honkers.

Trey Fikes (University of Nebraska) drove in a pair of runs as part of a 3-for-5 night at the plate en route to Thunder Bay’s 4-2 win at Mayo Field on Saturday night.

Calvin Warrilow (Dodge City Community College) also drove in a run, while Dylan Snead (Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi) had three hits and scored twice.

Mason Kosowick (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) picked up the win, surrendering only one run over five innings while striking out three batters. Will Humphrey (Western Illinois University) tossed three innings of relief, while Carson Priebe (McLennan Community College) and Cater Wall (University of Utah) combined to work a scoreless ninth inning to preserve the victory.

The Border Cats continue their series against the Honkers on Sunday, with Braden Gluth (Creighton University) expected to get the start on the mound. The Border Cats return home to Port Arthur Stadium with a Thursday doubleheader against the Willmar Stingers, with the first game scheduled to begin at 5:05 p.m. It’s Tbaytel Night, with prizes and giveaways courtesy of Tbaytel.
