The Thunder Bay Border Cats concluded their campaign on a high note, closing things out with a 10-5 road win over the Duluth Huskies at Wade Stadium on Saturday.

Kaiden Ashton (Central Missouri University), Corey Morro (University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma), and Duncan Key (University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma) each drove in a pair of runs.

Jeremy Sheffield (Georgetown University) added an RBI to wrap up his summer with a team leading total of 48.

Junior Lopez (Ottawa University), Devon Smith (Montreat College) and Dylan Snead (Ottawa University) also each brought home a run.

Jabe Schlehuber (Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi) earned the win, working three-plus innings of scoreless relief while striking out three.

Thunder Bay finishes the campaign with an overall record of 40-30, their most wins in a season since the 2008 title-winning year. The Border Cats were over .500 in both halves, going 21-13 to start and 19-17 in the second.

The Border Cats enjoyed particular success at home, sporting a stellar 26-11 record in games played at Port Arthur Stadium. The average home attendance for the year was 1,009.

The Border Cats retained the Superior Cup over their rivals from Duluth, prevailing 9-3 in their head-to-head battle this season.
