Following a pair of wins over Eau Claire to kick off the home portion of the season, the Express turned the tables on Thunder Bay in Wisconsin on Sunday, blanking the Border Cats 4-0.
The Cats, who saw their record slip to 3-4, managed just three hits as Express starter Hunter Guenther (Winona State University) fired seven shutout innings, allowing just two singles and striking out 10. Thunder Bay starter Luke Bryant (Ohio University) took the loss to fall to 0-1. The lefthander pitched four innings, giving up four runs on six hits, with three walks and five strikeouts. Luke Brown (Lewis University) had a strong outing of the bullpen as he tossed three shutout innings and struck out two.
The Cats and Express meet for the fourth straight time on Monday at Carson Park at 7:35pm ET. Lefthander Tyler Bribiescas (University of Arkansas-Monticello), gets the start on the mound for the Cats, who return to Port Arthur Stadium on Tuesday, to open a six-game homestand against the Minnesota Mud Puppies.
