After being idle for a week, the Border Cats returned to action Tuesday and came up with a 5-2 victory over the Rochester Honkers at Mayo Field. The Cats entire six-game homestand last week was wiped out due to poor air quality in the Thunder Bay area.

The Cats fell behind early 2-0, but Colin Fisher (University of Incarnate Word) tied it with a two-run homer in the top of the fourth inning, his second of the season.  Thunder Bay doubled its lead in the seventh as Nate Negre (University of Central Arkansas) also belted a two-run home run, his first of the campaign.  Fisher then added an insurance run in the eighth as he doubled home Mark Ross (University of Central Arkansas) for his third RBI of the night.

Ethan Froud (Pittsburg State University) picked up the win as he fired three hitless innings in relief, striking out three, to even his record at 1-1.  Jimmy Cerha (Panola CC) was credited with a hold as the righthander blanked the Honkers over two innings with three strikeouts, and Chase Randall (University of Incarnate Word) closed out the win, by striking out pair in the bottom of the ninth inning, for his first save of the season.

The Cats and Honkers meet again Wednesday at 7:35pm ET.  Lefthander Sam Maclaughlin (North Dakota State University) is the scheduled starter for Thunder Bay.
