

The Thunder Bay Border Cats slugged three home runs as they made it back-to-back road wins on Wednesday night with a 6-3 victory over the Rochester Honkers at Mayo Field.
Trailing 3-2, the Cats took the lead for good with a three-run seventh inning thanks to a solo homer off the bat of Justin Anctil (Texas State University), an RBI double by Nate Negre (University of Central Arkansas), with the third run scoring on an error. Jacob Steinberg (Belmont Abbey College) made his return to the Cats and homered in the top of the first inning, while Alex Kean (University of NC Ashville) also left the park with a solo shot leading off the eighth. Negre had two hits and drove in two runs on the night, Anctil collected two hits, while Jesus Vasquez (University of Hawaii) chipped in with a pair of hits, including a double, and two runs scored.
Four Thunder Bay pitchers combined on a four hitter with Tyler Bribiescas (University of Arkansas-Monticello) getting the win to improve his record to 3-4. The lefthander tossed three shutout innings, allowing just one hit, while striking out four. Tyler Holmes (Amarillo CC) fanned two in a scoreless ninth inning for his second save of the season.
The Cats continue their eight-game road trip Thursday with a split doubleheader in St. Cloud against the Rox. Game times are 1:05pm ET and 7:35pm ET with both games nine innings in length. Braden Gluth (North Dakota State University) and Vincent Segovia (University of Arkansas-Monticello) are the scheduled starters in the twin bill for Thunder Bay.
