

The Thunder Bay Border Cats wrapped up their season opening four-game road trip with a 7-4 loss to the La Crosse Loggers on Thursday night at Copeland Park.
The Cats (1-3), took a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning only to see the Loggers rally for four runs as La Crosse ran its record to 4-0. Lincoln Pack (Pensacola State CC) led the Cats offensively with a pair of doubles, one run batted in, and a run scored. Cats starter Reid Leonard (University of New Orleans) pitched four innings and allowed three hits and one run while striking out three. John Hood (Mineral Area CC) took the loss in relief.
The Border Cats return to the friendly confines of Port Arthur Stadium on Friday for their home opener against the Eau Claire Express. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm with gates opening at 5:30pm and a post-game fireworks show to follow. Whiby, Ont., righthander Makaio Cisneros (Florida Atlantic University) will get the start on the mound for Thunder Bay.
