The Thunder Bay Border Cats and their fans waited out a 91-minute lightning/rain delay and then waited for a big rally, erupting for five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, to stun the Duluth Huskies 7-5 Saturday night at Port Arthur Stadium.  Trailing 5-2, the Cats scored on a bases loaded walk to Ayden Hadley (Sacramento State University) and then pinch hitter Hayden Crites (McLellan CC) ripped a bases loaded triple over the head of the Duluth right fielder to put the Cats up 6-5.  Jacob Poletto (Bossier Parish CC) capped off the uprising with a single to right to drive home the seventh and final run.  The Cats survived leaving 15 men on base as they climbed over the .500 mark to 14-13 and improved their home record to 12-3.
Reid Leonard (University of New Orleans) picked up his first win in relief, going three innings, allowing three hits and one run, while striking out three.  Fellow Tennessee native Drew Morehead (Johnson University) notched his first save by pitching a scoreless ninth inning with a pair of strikeouts.
The Cats conclude their homestand on Sunday against the Huskies at 1:35pm.  It’s Father’s Day and also Family Day.  Families can purchase 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 Pepsi all for just $60 and kids can run the bases after the game.  Lefthander Tyler Bribiescas (University of Arkansas-Monticello) is the scheduled starter for the Cats.
