The Thunder Bay Border Cats kept their Superior Cup hopes alive with an 11-5 victory over the Duluth Huskies before a Friday night crowd of 1,331 fans at Port Arthur Stadium. The Huskies still lead the season series 6-4, so the Cats will need two wins at Wade Stadum next weekend to retain the trophy as the two-time defending champions. The Cats were down 2-0 early in the finale of their two-game set with the Huskies , but scored nine consecutive runs from the second through the fifth innings to up their overall season record to 23-35.

Alex Kean (UNC at Asheville) belted a three-run home run over the left field wall for his second home run of the campaign, while Justin Anctil (Texas State University) added a two-run blast. Mark Ross (University of Central Arkansas) went 3-for-5 and knocked in three runs for the winners.  The Border Cats also took advantage of 13 walks issued by Duluth pitchers.

Tyler Bribiescas (University of Arkansas-Monticello) picked up the win to improve his record to 5-4.  The lefthander tossed five innings, allowing just two hits, and two runs (no earned runs), while striking out seven.
