CATS FALL IN THE EIGHTH

The Border Cats fell in the bottom of the eighth inning Monday night in game four of a four game series against the Alexandria Blue Anchors at Knute Nelson Memorial Park. With the loss the Cats fall to 11-15.

The Cats put two on the board with RBI’s from both Carter McEachern (Trinity University) and Alan Baldwin (University of Hawaii) in the top of the fourth. Thunder Bay maintained the lead until the bottom of the eighth when the Blue Anchors brought in two on Drew Fearing’s (North Dakota State) RBI double.

Greg Weissert (Fordham University) opened the game strong pitching the first seven innings allowing only two runs while striking out nine. Zach Thiac (Nicholls State) took the loss for the Border Cats letting in the last two runs for Alexandria.

The Border Cats look for a win Tuesday night in Mankato against the Moondogs at 7:05pm CST / 8:05pm EST.
