MOONDOGS WIN IN THE NINTH
The Thunder Bay Border Cats fell to the strong Mankato offence in the bottom of the ninth inning. Mankato had a very productive inning notching a home run and an RBI double pushing the Moondogs to a 9-8 victory over the Cats. Thunder Bay’s record drops to 12-16 with the loss on the last day of a four day road trip.
Mikael Mogues (Seton Hall) was handed his first loss of the season while starting pitcher Johnny York (St. Mary’s) went the first seven innings allowing only two runs on three hits while striking out five.
Both Jared James (Long Beach State) and Carter McEachern (Trinity University) picked up two runs a piece on three and two hits respectively while Nate Nolan (St. Mary’s) notched two RBI’s on two hits.
The Border Cats return home Thursday night to face the Rochester Honkers at TbayTel Park at 7:05pm EST.
