Mankato, MN –The Thunder Bay Border Cats moved on to Mankato for their first game of a two game series versus the Mankato Moondogs.

The action didn’t start to get going until the top of the third when Austin Ledin hit his first homerun of the year to put the Border Cats ahead by 1. The lead was short lived when the MoonDogs came back in the top of the fourth with two runs and did not look back. The Border Cats did manage to bring home Colin Rosenbaum in 5th to score their second run of the game. Pitcher Patrick Ryan (0-2) pitched a solid seven innings, letting up 4 runs on 6 hits before being replaced by former MoonDogs pitcher Cody O’Brien. The MoonDogs eventually took a stranglehold on the lead when they scored another three in the bottom of the 8th. The final score on the night is 7-2.

The Border Cats will face the MoonDogs again tomorrow night at 5:05 eastern time to try to even the series at 1 all. Currently the Border Cats are at 4-7 on the season and the MoonDogs are at 6-5 at the end of tonight’s matchup.
