CANADIAN ALEXANDER NOLAN HURLS BEAUTY IN CATS WIN

Brock University’s (St. Catharines) Alexander Nolan hurled 8 innings of 1-run ball as the Thunder Bay Border Cats take down Willmar 2-1 at Port Arthur Stadium. The Burlington Ont. Native gave up just 3 hits, while striking out 5 in picking up his 2nd victory of the season. In the process, Nolan lowered his season ERA to 1.93 in 2 games. Andrew Gross closed it down in the 9th striking out the side. Brady Gulakowski and Billy Cook provided the offense with RBI singles in the 4th and 5th innings respectively. Cook returning for his 2nd year with the Cats had a perfect night going 4-for-4. Trevor Divinski had a strong outing for the Stingers going 7 innings giving up just 2 earned runs. John Trousdale had the lone RBI for Willmar. The two teams wrap up their 2-game series Thursday night at the Stadium. 7:05 pm 1st pitch. It is Thirsty Thursday, $1 off all Sleeping Giant Beer. The Cats will then embark on a 4-game road trip through Mankato and St. Cloud before returning home June 22ndto host Duluth.
