Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. – Country music star Frankie Ballard will headline the “Great Futures Summer Concert” presented by Element Mobile on Aug. 22 at Witter Field. This is the third year of the summer concert, which raises funds and awareness for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Wisconsin Rapids Area.
The concert will feature songs from Ballard’s current album “Sunshine and Whiskey,” including his top single “Helluva Life.” Local group Raised Reckless will open the show.
“The concert will be a great way to enjoy a summer night,” said John Fanta, general manager for the Rafters. “We are happy to support the Boys & Girls Club in many ways, especially this summer concert.”
The Rafters are hosting the concert at Witter Field. The stage will be set up in the outfield. Concert-goers can choose to buy general admission tickets for $20 and bring their own chair or blanket to enjoy the show. New this year, purchase a VIP reserved ticket for $35 which includes a reserved seat close to the stage. Tickets will go on sale at the Rafters Box Office on July 11, 2014 at 9 a.m. After August 18th, the price of tickets will go to $30 for general admission, and $50 for VIP.
The Boys & Girls Club is open to kids ages 6 to 18. In the Wisconsin Rapids Area, the Club is open during the summer and before and after-school during the school year. The local organization works along with the 1,150 Club organizations across the country to confront the urgent challenges facing young people. Ticket sales from the concert will support programs that address those challenges.
“We are here to serve all kids, with a focus on academic success, building good character and encouraging healthy lifestyles,” said Rob Wefel, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club. “But most importantly we are here to give kids a safe place to go. Joining with what our schools are already doing we are helping kids strive for great futures.”
Element Mobile is the presenting sponsor of the concert once again this year, displaying their commitment to the community and the Boys & Girls Club.
Y106.5 has also joined efforts to promote the “Great Futures Summer Concert.” They will be hosting free ticket give-aways throughout the summer.
