Rafters fall to 3-2 against Lakeshore on the season

Mequon, Wis- The Rafters fall below .500 as they fall to Lakeshore 12-8 today at Kapco Park. The Rafters were able to rally and tie the game after trailing 6-1 in the first inning. The Chinooks plated three runs apiece in the seventh and eighth innings to secure their 14th win of the season.

The Rafters continued to see the ball well at the plate on Sunday afternoon, as Brock Carpenter continued to stay hot for the Rafters. He went two for five at the plate and drove in another two RBI’s for the Rafters. Jake Sandlin (Georgia College) also had a two RBI game, and Dustin Woodcock (SIU Edwardsville) had a three hit game with two doubles and three runs scored out of the leadoff spot. Jon Malmin (Texas) made his first appearance out of the bullpen for the Rafters tossing three scoreless innings for Wisconsin Rapids.

The eight runs were not enough for the Rafters, as the Chinooks used three innings to do all of their damage on the day. Kyle Fiala (Notre Dame) and Zarley Zawlewski (Kent State) each parked their first home runs of the 2015 season to help Lakeshore to their second win of the summer over Wisconsin Rapids.

Wisconsin Rapids will play their final road game against Lakeshore this season tomorrow night, before heading to Madison on June 23 for a home and home series with the Mallards.
